Microding for 64 Years a Central New York Tradition!

64 years of Microding (1955 – 2019)

Microding began in the village of Skaneateles NY in 1955, then spread throughout Central New York. From Syracuse to Rochester, and later south to New York’s Southern Tier. Currently two of these Clubs Stand out: The Tri-County Microd Club & The Finger Lakes Microd Club. First: Tri-County – Located on Bull Creek Rd. in the Town of Triangle, Just outside Whitney Point NY. Tri-County is Microding’s largest Club and has been for about the last 10 seasons now.  Also they are the only Club currently racing on “Dirt”, another CNY tradition. Races are held on Saturday Nights starting at 5:30pm. Second: Finger Lakes Microd Club – they stand out for different reasons. Their club is centered on keeping costs low, so parents can afford to have their children race. The Finger Lakes Club rents microds & motors, so that families can try racing without the expense of having to buy a microd, motor, & a trailer to get started. The cost of doing this is very affordable, exactly $480.00 for the entire summer. Races are held Saturday Mornings at 10:30am. Their track is located at: 1437 Peruville Rd. Freeville NY. The Finger Lakes Club, also strives to be inclusive, They welcome & encourage All Special-Needs Kids to Race with Us!”  The Club has 5 Microds with Hand controls for Kids in Wheelchairs! In addition we have had & worked with Kids with Hearing Impairment, Asthma, ADHD, Autistic, Spina Bifida, Paralysis, Mentally Challenged, Rasmussen’s Encephalitis, & Bipolar Disorder.
