Creature Feature – Animal Moms

Posted by  //  April 28, 2026  //  Articles, Creature Feature

Some are big and some are small,
Some are short and some are tall.
Some have fur and some have scales
Some have long or stubby tails.
Some have feathers and can fly,
Some howl at the moonlit sky.
Some run fast while others crawl,
Some can leap the garden wall.
Some have paws and some have hooves,
Some build nests beneath our rooves.
Some like night and some like day,
Some might bark or moo or neigh.
Each unique from all the others,
Yet the same – as all are mothers.
All would die to save their young,
With precious lives just begun.
Mamas feed, they teach and guard,
Pushing through when life gets hard.
Making sure their babes are snug,
In nests or caves or dens they dug.
Raising young that grow up strong,
Mamas lead them all along.
Teaching lessons to ensure,
Their wee ones’ lives will endure.
They keep their children far from harm,
In woodlands, fields, or on the farm.
Below the sea or on dry land,
In jungles or on desert sand.
In valleys low or peaks above,
There’s nothing like a mother’s love!
Yes, critter moms are much like ours,
(Though some might eat your gift of flowers).

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
