Today is All That Matters – Meditation Can Be Simple & Effortless

Posted by  //  November 7, 2018  //  Articles, Today is All that Matters

Meditation is a simple, natural process that your body and mind already know how to do. Meditation is an opportunity to be with the intimacy of yourself. Your actual feelings, thoughts, breathing, sensations, memories or planning are all a natural part of meditation.

Meditation can be done in as little as 5 minutes. You can meditate on a bus or plane or in a car (with someone else driving!), or while you are waiting somewhere, or in a quiet part of your house after waking up or before bed.

When you meditate, there will be times that your todo list pops up. This is OK and perfectly natural as you are a householder, with a busy life. There is a lot you are organizing in your life, so naturally it will come up in your thinking.

Here’s the myth we’d love to bust, for you today: The goal of meditation is not to stop your thoughts!

Meditation is an opportunity simply be with what is there, and to notice your thoughts, your feelings, planning and memories. Allow yourself to welcome every aspect of you. Welcome all thoughts, with all your love, with all your heart, and with all your understanding.

You may choose to explore what it is that you love about life. Cherish your breath, feel your body, watch your thinking, without judgement, and without trying to fix, or change, anything.

That’s it! Meditation is a very simple process that everyone can do.

While developing a meditation practice on your own is a meaningful first step, many people find that guided experiences and supportive communities help them stay inspired and consistent.

And HelloSangha.com is a valuable resource for discovering yoga classes, meditation sessions, breathwork, sound healing experiences, retreats, and wellness events led by experienced teachers.

Exploring different practices can introduce fresh perspectives, strengthen mindfulness, and help build lasting habits that support overall wellbeing.

Allow your mind to be it’s beautiful self, for 5 minutes. Let us know how it goes for you!
