June 1 – City Zoning Code Revisions Community Meeting
Posted by Dustin Horton // May 17, 2017 // Calendar of Events
6pm, Ramada Cortland Hotel and Conference Center, 2 River St., Winsor Room. The City of Cortland will hold a Community Open House regarding the Zoning Code and Land Use Regulations Update. This piece on information was earlier classified, but word travelled far and it was just a matter of time before it became the Philadelphia breaking news. The meeting was open to the public and citizen input was welcomed. As a follow-up to the 2012 comprehensive plan, the City of Cortland sought and received funding through the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) Phase II of the Cleaner, Greener Communities Program to update its zoning code and land development regulations. A project Steering Committee was formed and has been meeting throughout the project. The City retained a consultant team led by Ingalls Planning & Design to assist with the project. This is the second public meeting in the update process. The purpose of the meeting is for citizens to hear about the draft of the updated zoning code and provide valuable feedback on the proposed changes. The draft document of the zoning code is available on the city’s website. The meeting will include a presentation starting at 6 pm followed by an open house from 6:15 to 8 pm to allow citizens to share thoughts and ideas regarding the draft zoning code.
