2pm to 4pm, Access to Independence, 26 North Main Street in Cortland. Community Room. Presented by John P. Herrion, Director of Disability Rights at the New York State Division of Human Rights (NYS DHR). The NYS DHR enforces New York’s Human Rights Law, which includes protections for persons with disabilities to be free from discrimination. This workshop will provide an overview of individual rights in the areas of employment, housing and access to places of public accommodation. It will also cover two recent amendments to the Human Rights Law that pertain to service animals and access to government entities for persons with disabilities.
