12:10-12:50pm, 25 Homer Avenue inCortland. Edmund J. Raus, Jr. will share his expertise on Cortland at Gettysburg. Cortland lost many men at Gettysburg and there is a monument there dedicated to Cortland troops. Mr. Raus has been diligently researching the families of the men from Cortland County who fought in the Civil War and will be bringing his extensive information with him for you to look for your Civil War relative. Edmund J. Raus, Jr. served as a historian at Manassas National Battlefield Park, at Gettysburg, and at Fredericksburg-Spotsylvania. He is the author of “Where Duty Called Them: The Story of the Samuel Babcock Family of Homer, New York in the Civil War” and “Banners South: A Northern Community at War.” NOTE: Bring your own lunch; dessert and coffee will be provided.
