2-4pm, Cortland Free Library, 32 Church Street, Cortland. Helen De Haan, a resident of the Children’s Home inCortland for five years, will present a program on the Memory Notebook she compiled for the second reunion of former residents in July 2013. Closed in 1958, The Children’s Home was operated by the King’s Daughters on Port Watson Street inCortland, NY. De Haan will explain the “hows and whys” she came to compile the notebook, which includes Clarence and Hazel Banner as Superintendents, memories of former residents, obituaries, and the Home’s 52-year history. Personal experiences prior to living at the Home and life following the Home will conclude the program. Q & A to follow. Free admission.
