It’s officially summer and that means picnics, fireworks and the 4th of July. Hi, I am Hannah Baker the Tompkins Dairy Princess. With the graduation parties just beginning and 4th of July right around the corner this is a busy time for parties. Are you looking for something new and different to serve your guests? How about milk punch! Here is a great recipe that will be a big hit at your next event and it will be a great way to help you get your 3-every-day of dairy. Getting three servings of dairy everyday is an important part of a healthy diet so don’t forget your milk, cheese and yogurt!
Brown Cow Punch
- 2 quarts chocolate milk
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/2 gallon coffee ice cream, softened
In a punch bowl, combine milk and extract. Add ice cream by scoopfuls and allow to float on top of punch. Or scoop ice cream into glasses; combine milk and extract, then pour over ice cream. Yield: 3 quarts.
The Tompkins County Dairy Princess program is made possible through the support of the American Dairy Association and Dairy Council- the local planning and management organization funded by dairy farmer check off dollars.
