September 24 – 15th Annual Cortland County River Clean Up

On Saturday, September 24, 2011, the Cortland County Soil & Water Conservation District will be holding the 15^th Annual Cortland County River Clean-Up along the many streams, lakes, and ponds in Cortland County.  Participants form teams and claim a portion of a stream, pond, or lake from which they remove accumulated trash and debris for a few hours. The trash clean up will run from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Supplies and materials are provided to teams in advance.  Teams will have the option of depositing trash collected at a designated drop off point or the Cortland County Soil and Water Conservation District office.  The event is free and open for all to participate.  The registration deadline is September 9, 2011; so if you or someone you know is interested in forming team, please contact Mike Catalano at (607) 756-5991 for more information.
