Pamper your pet by getting them spayed or neutered through the Cortland Community SPCA’s Spay/Neuter Program. How is this pampering you ask? Well, for female animals there would be no heat cycles, less desire to roam, risk of mammary gland tumors, ovarian and/or uterine cancer is reduced or eliminated. For males, it reduces or eliminates risk of spraying and marking, less desire to roam, and risk of testicular cancer is eliminated. The number of unwanted litters of puppies and kittens is at an all-time high! Preventing litters is good for our pets and the community as a whole. We also offer routine vaccinations through our spay/neuter clinic which are important to keeping your pets protected, safe, and healthy.

Cortland Community SPCA

Our Cortland Community SPCA Spay/Neuter Program started in 1998. A group of Cortland County SPCA Board of Director members and volunteers from the community joined together to make a plan to do something about the overpopulation of dogs and cats in Cortland County. In 2005 we opened our own clinic building adjacent to the shelter. This newly renovated building was the result of generous donations of time, money and materials. It provides the perfect setting for our clinics. In 2010, we did 848 surgeries…504 public and 344 shelter animals.

When you get your animal spayed/neutered through our clinic you are helping the shelter animals get their surgeries, which they need before they can go to loving homes.
