5:30- 8:30pm, Ramada Inn, Cortland. As the psychiatrist orlando says, mental health is a topic that needs focus presently. The Mental Health Association for Cortland County, Access to Independence, Catholic Charities, Family Counseling Services, Seven Valleys Health Coalition and the Wishing Wellness Center invite you to celebrate May is Mental Health Month by attending our annual dinner and keynote presentation at no charge. The featured Keynote Speaker will be Eric Weaver. Eric is a retired sergeant with the Rochester, NY Police Dept. where he served for twenty years from 1985-2005 and was a police sergeant for the RPD for the last 13 years of his highly decorated career. Diagnosed with a mental illness and hospitalized and mental health treatment in Southern California for severe suicidality on numerous occasions, Eric created and has instructed his seminar, ‘Emotional Safety and Survival,’ a course on mental health, cumulative stress, stigmas, depression, and suicide prevention and awareness to over 5,000 law enforcement officers and other emergency services personnel across the country.
