Asperger Expert to Speak at Asperger’s Support Groups

Asperger researcher, behavioral consultant, author and professor will share his knowledge at the Families of Adults with Asperger’s Support Group and the Adults with Asperger’s (18+) Support Group. Dr. Michael Friga, founder of Three Tier Consulting in Ithaca, New York, will speak at their April monthly meeting, Thursday, April 19th at 7PM. Dr. Friga currently supervises home-based programs for children with autistic spectrum disorders, serves as a behavioral consultant to school districts in Central New York, and hosts trainings for school districts and parents on evidence-based, behavioral interventions. His current interest is the development of social skills and social-communication for individuals with high-functioning autism and Asperger’s Syndrome. In collaboration with Holly Adams (an actor and drama coach), Dr. Friga is exploring the use of drama and role playing to develop social skills for individuals on the spectrum. The meeting will take place at St. Luke Lutheran Church, located at 109 Oak Avenue in Collegetown (directly behind Collegetown Bagels and across from the Cornell Performing Arts Center).
