January 27 – Winter Crop Meeting

Cornell Cooperative Extension offers its annual Winter Crop Meeting, on January 27th, at the Clarion Inn in Ithaca. This meeting provides a winter-time gathering and update of current topics for area dairy and field crop farmers.
The day starts at 9 a.m. with a tradeshow of ag related and crop supply businesses. The program begins at 10 am. This year the theme of the meeting is Precision Agriculture: Putting information technology to work! Enhance production through management. Industry speakers will address using geo-positioning information from satellites to guide tractors and input applications, having success with even plant stands through adjustments of planting equipment, and putting the information package together for troubleshooting, diagnosis and management decisions.
DEC pesticide recertification and CCA credits have been requested. The cost is $25, which includes lunch. Pre-registration is requested by Jan 20.
