Travel to the East Side of Cortland to 122 Elm Street and you’ll smell the delicious aromas of fresh baked bread, cakes, cookies and pastries. Come inside and you will find a small, family owned place appropriately named The East Side Bakery. Tim and Christine Armstrong, owners and operators since the spring of 2005, love to cook and bake, and there is nothing more fun than sharing that love with family and friends. “The East Side is our second home, so everyone who comes into the bakery becomes like a second family to us.” Says Christine. Besides baking Fresh Italian Breads everyday the “old school way”, Tim makes 12 grain wheat, rolls, and specialty breads such as Olive Ciabatta, Focaccia, and Garlic Braids. They have a full line of Made from Scratch Cookies and Pastries, made fresh daily, as well as Specialty Cakes to order. Tim and Christine would not be able to do all of these things without help, and that help includes Tim’s right hand man, Dakota, and his Mom, Beverly. They are the best employees ever!
Are you looking for something different for dinner? Thursday and Fridays are “Pizza Night” at the East Side, where you can order a home style Pizza, Oven Baked Chicken Wings, Calzones, or a great Antipasto Salad. Tim makes delicious Italian Sausage and House Smoked Pepperoni, as well as Breakfast Sausage and our House Cured and Smoked BACON. Pick up one of the many varieties of Homemade Pasta and you’ll have the perfect Italian Feast! The East Side Bakery also offers an assortment of Quality Italian Meats and Cheeses. Do you have a special event coming up? Let East Side take care of all of your catering needs.
The Bakery is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 7am-5:30pm, Thursday and Friday from 7am-7pm, and Saturdays from 8am-1pm. Check out our website eastsidebakerycortland.com for more info!
