March 11-12 – The Nut Factory
Posted by Dustin Horton // February 13, 2016 // Arts & Live Music, Calendar of Events
7:30pm, Cortland High School Auditorium. In Cortland High School’s production of The Nut Factory, The Commedia shines! You’ll see cases of mistaken identity, trickery, love, and undaunted courage – while Cheryl McNutt, played by Bailey Windhausen, rallies her two sisters all to save The McNutt Halfway-House for emotionally disturbed adolescents from a wicked aunt. Undaunted by details, Christine, played by McKenzie Morey, persuades her boyfriend, Barry, played by Brian Barnes, to put on a false beard and intern’s jacket, and pose as their missing psychiatrist, while Karen, played by Amanda Reyngoudt, pretends to be a patient. She even maintains this pretense when the examiner turns out to be a handsome young man she’s been gradually falling in love with while doing research at the library. He’s equally interested in her and believes she’s suffering from a mild neurosis. Naturally, he consults the phony psychiatrist and the troubles really multiply! Tickets $6.00 presale by calling 607-758-4110; $8 at the door. For more information call (607) 758-4110 or email smcsweeney@cortlandschools.org
