Bob’s Barbecue can provide you with a variety of BBQ’d favorites: chicken, beef brisket, pork, ribs, and even Hofmann hot dogs. You can purchase BBQ beef brisket and pork by the pound. Also on the menu are beef, Carolina Brisket Sandwich and a selection of sides, from macaroni and potato salad to baked beans, salt potatoes, and sweet corn. New this year – smashed potato bowls! And what BBQ wouldn’t be complete without dessert? Among the desserts Bob’s offers are homemade brownies, assorted cookies, cheesecake, and assorted pies and cakes. You can order BBQ a la carte, or a dinner which includes two sides. Order your BBQ to go, or you can relax and enjoy your meal on site in Bob’s outside picnic area.
George Haskell, owner of Bob’s Barbecue and Catering, has operated the business for over 40 years. He is the front man who barbeques your chicken, while his wife, Phyllis, works with him and behind the scenes to help out with the business. George had originally wanted to either go into the restaurant business or pharmaceutical sales, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology Science. “I never intended to go into the barbeque business,” George says. “It was something that just popped up.”
“When George graduated from college, jobs were scarce in the field he wanted,” adds Phyllis. “He was raised in the chicken business; so that’s what he did.”
Stop by and visit Bob’s on Route 281, one mile north of Homer (5290 Route 281, two miles north of Route 81) and enjoy your meal in the grassy dining area, complete with open and canopied picnic tables.
