The Student Deli is a New York style deli located at 134 Main St. in Cortland, NY. The deli is run by five brothers with big hearts and big dreams. Diligently working 7 days a week from early morning (7 am Mon-Sat, 8 am Sun) until late night (12 am), the family provides a much needed service to the Cortland community while being joyful, pleasant and with a smile.
With its bright lights and name beckoning to students, locals and travelers alike, the store and grocery offers a wide range of snacks, drinks, and convenience items in addition to the delicious deli in the back.
The deli serves up everything from breakfast favorites, such as bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches, bagels, omelets (only $4.79!) to classic subs made with Boar’s Head meats and cheeses to traditional Halal staples like chicken or lamb and rice, chicken or lamb gyros, as well as cheeseburgers, chicken tenders, waffle fries, curly fries, Philly cheesesteaks, chopped cheese and so much more.
If you aren’t familiar with a chopped cheese sandwich, it is a NYC (and beyond) favorite that originated in the 1950’s with the same ingredients as a cheeseburger, but chopped up to maximize the flavor. People have sought after it ever since.
