Overlooking the village of Groton, in New York’s Finger Lakes region, stands the Benn Conger Inn. Originally built in 1921 as a private home for Benn Conger, popular state senator, it became a safe haven for the infamous bootlegger and numbers racketeer Dutch Schultz.
The Colonial Revival architecture of the Inn is complimented by a charming Victorian house located next door. The Inn features 10 room/suites between the two buildings. The inside of the main house just completed an 8-month restoration project. The properties sit on 18 acres of space perfect for outdoor activities such as walking/hiking, cross country skiing, picnics, and sports to name just a few! We are located just 15 minutes from Ithaca or 35 minutes from Syracuse. The inn is the perfect headquarters from which to explore the beauty of the area: Hiking, biking, horse-back riding, golfing, tennis, cross-country and alpine skiing, hunting, fishing, water sports, wine-tasting, antiquing and a variety of other activities. Whether for business or pleasure, corporate retreat, wedding reception, or romantic getaway, we look forward to making your stay as memorable as possible. Questions email us Benncongerinn@gmail.com.
