Summerhill Brewing, LLC started humbly in 2016 in owners’ Jeff and Sallee Ten Eyck’s garage along with partners Kurt and Megan McDonald, their son and daughter-in-law.  The microbrewery soon outgrew the space. To provide more of their craft beer to meet the demands of their overwhelming following, they opened their new 3,000 square foot farm brewery in May of 2019 at their current scenic location on State Route 90 in Summerhill.  Part of the expansion plan included space for a small kitchen to add their own food options to their venue.  Summerhill Brewing’s kitchen recently opened with Megan’s extensive culinary skills allowing the Brewery and tap room to offer up some uniquely simple fare to please any palate.

Summerhill Brewing offers a variety of ales including a standard line up as well as several seasonal and “specialty” brews.  One of their goals is to use as much local product as possible and one of their original brews, Millard’s American Ale is made with all NYS ingredients. It is aptly named after our 13th President Millard Fillmore who was a native of Summerhill. This ale is a favorite among patrons.

The family owned Brewery also recently released their Craft Maple Soda to provide a nonalcoholic option. There are plans to add additional options in the future.

Currently, they have an experimental Mint Chocolate Stout, and an Elder Flower Ale in works.  Their signature Pumpkin Smash Brown Ale, a seasonal favorite, is soon to be released as well.

Their venue provides spacious outdoor seating with a spectacular view and some heated areas.  Indoor seating is currently somewhat limited due to COVID-19 restrictions. Curbside pick up is an option as well.

Summerhill Brewing, LLC continues to provide a fun, relaxing, community venue supporting other local businesses and community events. You can keep up to date on their activities and offerings as well as hours on their website, social media pages or email list.  It is definitely “Worth the Trip Up the Hill”.
