Next up in their 48th annual summer season, Cortland Repertory Theatre proudly presents the exciting thriller comedy Sleuth written by Anthony Shaffer, running from August 14th – 24th , and closes their summer with the hit “rockabilly” musical Million Dollar Quartet by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux, running August 28 – September 13.  Tickets may be purchased by calling 800-427-6160 or at the CRT Box Office at 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland. Tickets are also available for sale 24 hours a day through the CRT website at www.cortlandrep.org. CRT cautions that this is the only approved online ticket service; other online sites charge significantly higher rates for tickets and are NOT approved by CRT.

In the Tony Award winning thriller/comedy Sleuth, the ultimate game of cat- and-mouse is played out in a cozy country house, owned by celebrated mystery writer Andrew Wyke (played by Greg Bostwick). He invites Milo Tindle (Nicholas Wilder), a young rival who shares not only Wyke’s love of the game but also his wife, for a seemingly “congenial” visit. Revenge is devised and murders plotted as the two work together (or do they?) to plan the ultimate whodunit. But things are not always as they seem – right up to the thrilling conclusion! A neat, clever little mystery for any amateur sleuth. Sleuth is directed by Trey Compton, who previously directed Legally Blonde this summer, and was nominated for a SALT Award for direction last summer for Rough Crossing.

In Million Dollar Quartet, imagine seeing an actual incredible event take place!  On December 4, 1956, an extraordinary twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins together at Sun Records in Memphis for what would be one of the greatest jam sessions ever. That night comes to life with an irresistible tale of broken promises, secrets, betrayal and celebrations that is both poignant and funny. This smash-hit musical features an incredible score of rock ‘n’ roll, gospel, R&B and country hits including Blue Suede Shoes, Great Balls of Fire, Walk the Line, Sixteen Tons, Who Do You Love?, Folsom Prison Blues, Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On, Hound Dog, and more! Million Dollar Quartet is co-directed by CRT Producing Artistic Director Kerby Thompson and Todd Meredith, who will also serve as Music Director and will play Carl Perkins.

The cast is primarily comprised of actor/singers making their CRT debuts: Colin Barkell will portray Johnny Cash, Noah Jermain will play Elvis Presley, and Equity Guest Artists Gavin Roher will appear as Jerry Lee Lewis.  Emily Seibert will play Dyanne, Elvis’s date for the night, with Bobby Becher as Sam Phillips, the person widely considered to be the Father of Rock and Roll. Playing Fluke, the drummer, will be Michael Lucetti, and as Brother Jay, the bassist will be Nathan Yates Douglass.
