High School Auditorium

Don’t miss the free continuous entertainment in the MCS High School Auditorium, which kicks off with the Annual Pancake Eating Contest at 9:00 a.m. April 6th.  The 15 minute contest is always a fun time as pancake eaters do their best to eat as many pancakes as possible for their not for profit entities that sponsor them in a fun way to raise money.

The Pancake Eaters and their sponsors are:

  • Returning Champion   Patrick Rand – The OCC Challenge
  • Andrew Pierce  – MCS Girls Basketball
  • Dalton Greene  – St. Joseph’s Cardiac Unit
  • Eric Dunay  – Marathon Lions Club
  • Bobby Newman –  FEAT of CNY
  • Sebastian Truesdail  – Broome County 4-H
  • Alisha Armstrong –  Oncology at Guthrie

Following the Pancake Eating Contest the Marathon High School Music and Drama Departments will entertain with a variety of selections at 11 a.m.

At noon time the Cortland Performing Arts Institute/Danz under the direction of Cindy and Kevin Halpin will bring a wide variety of dance for all ages, as their students perform.

The Crown City Brass, who will be performing for the first time on the Maple Festival Stage will be performing at 1 p.m.

They will be followed by The Mud Kickers, who will be making their first appearance at the Maple Festival too.  This band plays a wide variety of music from old country to rock.

Sunday’s entertainment is all “bluegrass” music with three bands lending their spin on this folksy, happy music just right for a Maple Festival.

At 11 a.m. The Gospel Way bring their inspirational touch, followed by Melanie and the Boys at noon time.  A new bluegrass band The Fly Wheels will close out the 49th Annual CNY Maple Festival’s entertainment beginning at 1:30 p.m.
