The Leon Chandler Chapter of Trout Unlimited and Tompkins County Cooperative Extension 4-H Program are proud to offer you (youth and adults) the finest in fly-fishing education, featuring some of the most talented angler/tiers in the state! This Introduction to Fly Tying features nine two-hour sessions with several different instructors who will teach you the basics of tying the dry fly, wet fly, nymph and streamer patterns that are the most effective in our area.
Tuition includes nine weeks of instruction, all tools, hooks and tying materials. All students receive: complete tying kits (including vises, scissors and related tools); all tying materials necessary to complete the course and practice tying outside of the class (feathers, dubbing, hooks and related materials); as well as a comprehensive introductory text on Fly Tying.
Tuition fees are $140 for adults (19 and up), $110 for children (between the ages of 13 and 18) and $215 for a child and adult combination. There are a limited number of partial scholarships available for children between the ages of 13 and 18. A 50% tuition deposit must accompany your application in order for us to hold your place.
