March 25 – Maple Sugarin’ Day

Posted by  //  March 11, 2017  //  Calendar of Events

8am – 1pm, Lime Hollow Education Center, 3277 Gracie Rd., Cortland. For Central New Yorkers, the coming of spring isn’t marked by the calendar. It’s marked by plumes of steam coming from sugar houses in full swing. That’s the signal to shed a layer and shake off months of cabin fever. For generations, making syrup has been more than a tradition- it’s been a rite of passage from winter to spring. The Maple Sugarin’ Day is held in conjunction with the BOCES New Visions Environmental Science Class. Pancake Breakfast – open at 8 am: Members: $5, $2 under 12; Nonmembers: $7, $3 under 12; under 3: Free.
Discover how maple syrup is made! 9am – 12noon, free admission. For more information visit limehollow.org.
