March 24 & 31 – Getting Started with Vegetable Gardening

This class will help the beginning veggie gardener learn about garden siting, soil preparation, how to start seeds, how to plant, when and how to mulch, and which easy veggies to try first. Pat Curran, Horticulture Educator, will also discuss favorite varieties, container gardening, and harvesting tips. Find out about Cooperative Extension’s “free seeds” cabinets! This class will be held twice: sign up for Fri. morning March 24, 10am-12 noon, OR Friday, March 31, 6:30-8:30 pm, at the Tompkins County Cornell Cooperative Extension Education Center, 615 Willow Avenue, Ithaca. $5-$10 self-determined sliding scale fee; pre-registration preferred to ensure enough handouts.
