The Dryden Town Historical Society will host the 2016 Homestead Heritage Day Festival on Saturday, September 24th, from 10 AM until 3 PM on the grounds of the Southworth Homestead, 14 North Street (Rt. 13) in Dryden.
This year’s event will feature a display of new and antique quilts as well as a review by local quilt historian, Nancy Ostman. Music will be provided by the Fingerlakers Old Tyme Band. There will be demonstrations of goat milking, blacksmith skills, spinning (wool and flax), needlework, lace making and chair caning. There will be great food from the Dryden Community Center Café, a quilt raffle, sheep and goats to pet, and games for the kids. Admission is free and everyone is invited to join the fun. Tours of the Southworth House will be available for a $5 donation.
