The 1 in 15,000 Mission – Mission Statement

Posted by  //  July 17, 2016  //  News

It is our mission to keep a sustainable fund that is available to the families and children who have to visit/stay at the Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital in Syracuse NY. It is hard enough for people these days to make ends meet, it is even harder when you have to take time off from work to be with your sick child no matter the duration of time.

I started this non profit organization in 2013 because I know these struggles first hand. My youngest daughter was born in 2010 with a metabolic condition called MCADD which occurs in 1 in 15,000 children in the U.S. every year, hence the name The 1 in 15,000 Mission. I wanted to do something to help families and children to ease the burden of dealing with their situation because I have been in their shoes.

The annual motorcycle ride and donations from sponsors and individuals help keep the fund alive, we are always accepting donations year round. We are a 501C3 non profit organization that is in direct partnership with the Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital.

Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital serves 17 counties in upstate New York and surrounding areas. I’m sure we all know someone who has had to visit this world class facility, I feel it is our duty to help in anyway we can. The mission begins with you. For more information or to donate to the fund please email the1in15000mission@gmail.com or stop in at Webster’s Garage in Moravia, NY.
