Greek Peak Mountain Resort Expands Cross Country and Downhill Mountain Biking Operation – Resort Celebrates Opening Day on Saturday, May 28th

Last year, Greek Peak Mountain Resort launched a pilot downhill mountain bike division. It was a soft launch with three trails. The resort utilizes their Visions Express Quad Chairlift to bring guests and their bikes to the top of the trail and then bikers ride down the designated trail system.

This season, Greek Peak added two additional downhill trails along with incorporating their existing cross country trail system. The new trails include one designated green or easy, and the other trail is designated as blue, being more difficult. Experienced riders will enjoy the adrenaline pumping black diamond trail, being most difficult. The newly built mini pump track was added this year, designed to increase skill levels of all ages and will be located at the base of the mountain. These new features greatly increase the value of the Bike Park’s daily ticket. This year, we have added rental, repair, and retail to our product line.

Greek Peak Mountain Resort formed a partnership with Advance Cyclery in Syracuse. The Advance Cyclery Base Camp will be located at the base of the mountain, east of Visions Express Quad Chairlift. Advance Cyclery Base Camp hours will shadow trail hours, Saturdays 12pm-5pm.

“We are pleased with the kick off to a long partnership with Advance Cyclery,” says Travis MacDowell of Greek Peak Mountain Resort. MacDowell goes on to say, “They have over 35 years’ experience and are passionate about the cycle community. John Galli, co-owner of Advance Cyclery, brings extensive downhill racing knowledge, as well as being a master bike technician.”

Seasonal Opening Party for Greek Peak Bike Park will be May 28, 2016 from 12pm-5pm. Bike Park lift tickets are $25 per day. Scenic chair lift rides are also available for $10. Fast Trax BBQ will be open from 12pm-5pm offering grilled items and cold beverages. Post-ride Bike Park celebration will take place at Trax Pub & Grill 5pm – 11pm.
