Lion Legacy

Dryden was known for a long time as a town of tragedy. Two years ago, a group of graduates, former teachers, administrators, and community members established Lion Legacy. Lion Legacy’s mission has been to honor those we have lost and show that we are a town of strength and triumph.

At Homecoming 2014, we re-dedicated “the rock” at the football field as well as a purple star in Coach Steve Starr’s memory that is now affixed to the press box. In June 2015, two graduating seniors were awarded with a $500 scholarship.

On May 28, 2016, we will be hosting the first annual Walk to Remember at the Dryden High School track. From 6-8pm, the community will be invited to walk the track to honor a loved one (friend, former teacher, classmate, parent, sibling, child, etc). Beginning at 7pm, all the names of those that have passed will be read as luminaries honoring those individuals are lit. If you have been to a Relay for Life event, it will be similar.

We are asking that if you have a loved one that has passed that was involved in the Dryden community to please submit your name to Rhonda Kowalski at rmk@tc3.edu. If you’re interested in donating to the cause, you can donate at www.gofundme.com/lionlegacywalk. Find us on Facebook by searching “Lion Legacy”.
