October 22 – November 8 – “Always… Patsy Cline” (CRT)
Posted by Dustin Horton // September 23, 2015 // Arts & Live Music, Calendar of Events
7:30pm (2 pm on Sundays), CRT Downtown, 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland. This foot-stompin,’ toe-tappin,’ feel-good musical tells the story of the friendship between Louis Seger, a Texas housewife and the legendary country singer, Patsy Cline. From the day that incredible voice spoke to her from the television screen, Louise was hooked. Taking a road trip to a honky-tonk bar in Houston, Louise experienced what it was like to see Patsy Cline perform in person. She had met the woman who gave her soul a voice. Later that night, over a pot of strong coffee, a friendship began that would last until Patsy’s untimely death in 1963. Through letters and visits, the two shared the homespun stories of laughter and heartache that brought this “odd couple” together on a common ground. This fun-loving musical features 27 classic songs. Tickets $32, seniors/students/groups of 10, $30. For more information call 1-800-427-6160, stop in at 24 Port Watson St., or visit cortlandrep.org.
