Adana Veterinary Clinic Celebrates 10 years of “Care, Comfort, and Compassion”

On February 14th, 2004 Adana Veterinary Clinic in Freeville opened its doors for business with the motto: “Care, Comfort, and Compassion for your Pet!” This is a great post to read for all pet lovers and also to celebrate alongside them for their successful services for all these years.

This year they have been open for 10 years, and on Saturday March 22nd the business is celebrating by having an Open House from 10 am to 1 pm.

“It has been a great journey” says Dr. Gry Wildenstein, owner of Adana. “I am very happy with how the clinic has performed and grown in this first decade; it has turned into what I envisioned when I planned the building and lay-out in 2003. Clients often ask if I would change any of the design if I had to do it over. Amazingly enough, both the floor plan and the design have worked out great. The only thing I wish for now is a bigger parking lot!  Our clients are thrilled with our warm, welcoming facility and often comment on the nice ‘feel’ the clinic has.  Adana Veterinary Clinic has 7 staff members and a part-time associate doctor, Dr. Karen Dumont.  “I have a fantastic, hard-working team; I truly appreciate each and every one of them. We all take pride in great customer service, I feel my staff members always do their utmost in providing exceptional care and being courteous, helpful and pleasant to all clients.”

The 3,000-squarefoot clinic located off Rte. 38 in the village of Freeville has a bright and open interior with lots of natural light. The large reception has separate areas for cats and for dogs. Cats are often quite nervous going to the vet; it helps to give them their own area at a safe distance from dogs. The clinic has 3 exam rooms. The largest is for dogs, and for dogs and cats that live together. It can easily accommodate a few big dogs as well as their human family. The second is the feline exam room and is used exclusively for cats and small furry pets. The third exam room is called “The Comfort room”.  While occasionally used for exams, it is primarily used is for emotionally difficult visits (i.e. acute trauma or euthanasia) and for allowing owners to visit with their hospitalized pet in a quiet setting. “The Comfort room was an important feature when I designed the clinic,” says Gry Wildenstein, “I needed a peaceful room at the end of the building allowing owners to exit privately when needed. We, as well as owners, have been very grateful for that room over the years”.

“We practice high quality medicine and very individualized care” continues Dr. Wildenstein. “We care about every patient and their comfort; the owners sense that.  Adana Veterinary Clinic treats mostly dogs and cats; but also sees ferrets, guinea pigs, rabbits, and other small furry pets. Dr. Dumont and Dr. Wildenstein offer exams, vaccines and treatments, soft tissue surgeries (incl. spay and neuter), routine and advanced dental care and surgery, radiology and laser treatment.  Adana also has a sophisticated laboratory in house, allowing most blood, urine and fecal tests to be performed on site within an hour.

The clinic has a beautiful boarding area for cats; it features a large exercise condo with shelves, a tree branch and a great window view.  “Our cat clients love that we only board cats. It is quiet and inviting.  Unfortunately boarding dogs is a little too noisy for our residential area location, so we leave that to others”.

The Open House is on Saturday March 22nd from 10 am to 1 pm. The staff and doctors will be there to welcome clients and visitors. It will be possible to view the entire facility, enjoy some fun clinical exhibits (see and guess some X-rays, view microscope slides) and demonstrations (i.e. of Laser Treatment). There will be door-prizes, a raffle and some refreshments too.

For the kids there will be live dogs and cats in the cages, a “Play & Pretend” area and a special visiting guest: a (2-legged) brown, fluffy dog (looks like Scooby-Doo) who loves hugs!

Please plan a visit on March 22nd to Adana Veterinary Clinic for the Open House!
