December 6th at 7pm Cortland City Ballet will bring the Cortland area its most joyous holiday tradition with its beloved 17th annual production of The Nutcracker. A wonderful ballet for the entire family, The Nutcracker is the perfect way to introduce young children to the power and beauty of classical dance. Tchaikovsky’s magical score, talented dancers, vibrant costumes and Amy Porcaro-Taylor’s fabulous choreography create one stunning Holiday production that you won’t want to miss.

The Nutcracker tells the story of a little girl named Clara whose godfather Drosselmeyer, gives her a magical nutcracker doll on Christmas Eve. She encounters the frightful rat king with the Nutcracker who has come to life before embarking on a journey to the Kingdom of Sweets where she is greeted by the Sugar Plum Fairy herself!  Young and old alike will experience the production’s many beautiful moments. As a bonus treat, all those who attend will also get to see that Cortland City Ballet offers much more than ballet. You will also be brought into the holiday mood with some hip-hop, tap, jazz and lyrical dances!  Come celebrate with us on December 6th at BOCES McEvoy Auditorium on Rt 13 in Cortland, NY. Tickets are $15 for Adults and $10 for Children 18 & under. Call 607-753-0673 or emailcortlandcityballet@gmail.com for more information today! Dance classes make great Christmas gifts!
