September 28 – Wilderness First Aid Course Being Offered by NYSOGA

A Wilderness First Aid and CPR Courses under the sponsorship of the New York State Outdoor Guides Associationwill be conducted on Saturday, Sept. 28, at the White Otter Fish & Game Club, 10914 Woodgate Road in Woodgate, NY. It will start at 8 a.m. and last until approximately 6 p.m. Included will be lunch and two breaks.
The class, developed by the Emergency Care and Safety Institute Education Center, is accredited by the Wilderness Medical Society, Emergency Care and Safety Institute and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Included will be:
- Muscle, joint and bone injury
- Soft tissue injury
- Bandages and splints
- Sudden illness
- Heat and cold injury or illness
- Evacuation methods
- Prevention advice
- Recommended first aid supplies
