Posted by Dustin Horton // March 13, 2013 // Calendar of Events, Sports & Recreation
Tompkins County 4-H will hold the 13th Annual 5K Fun Run on Sunday April 28, 2013, and this year’s race will be more colorful than ever! The race will begin at 10:00 a.m. Participants will enjoy a flat, fast and fun 5k, with a twist. This year, participants will be showered with colored powder as they travel from Stewart Park and up the Cayuga Waterfront Trail. This environmentally-safe colored corn-starch will tie-dye our runners from head to toe, making this year’s fun run extra bright! Water will be provided along the route, with fruit and refreshments post-race. The course will be staffed by volunteers as well as by Ithaca College Professor Craig Paiement’s Sport Event and Facility Management students. Prizes donated by local businesses will be awarded to the first several runners to finish in each age category.
Runners/walkers of all abilities are welcome! (Adults, children, strollers, wheelchairs, etc.) Pre-Register ($20) until April 14 or $25 on race day. All pre-registrants get a free t-shirt.
