Fresh from the Garden: Homemade Jam

This hands-on Gardens4Humanity training class will cover perennials as an easier and more sustainable way of growing food; growing herbs and perennial vegetables, introduction to permaculture, Herb Spiral construction . Artists’ Studio Camp at ICG: Plants, Pallets, Presto!

Rising 1st-5th graders can join Ithaca Children’s Garden for four full days of plant-based artistic pursuits including individual projects and group creations. Learn about natural dyes, the very first form of photography, and create living sculptures. Kids will have plenty of opportunity to discover their muse, find their inspiration, and take their projects from concept to masterpiece. Camp runs 9:00am-3:30pm with free “wrap-around” care from 8:30am-4:00pm. Cost: non-members: $190-230, members: $175-200, self-determined sliding (you choose what to pay; payment above the minimum supports scholarships for others). Breastfeeding for the Health of It!

A 6-class series for new or expectant moms! Participants receive a personal nutrition assessment, and will learn about mother’s health, benefits of breastfeeding, how your body changes when pregnant, positioning your baby for proper latch, how to pump and store breast milk, and how to breastfeed in public. FREE for women who are eligible for WIC, Medicaid, Food Stamps or similar programs; $30 for the series for all others.
