Posted by Dustin Horton // April 16, 2012 // Calendar of Events, Education
When: 7:30-9:00 PM
Where: Cornell Lab of Ornithology, 159 Sapsucker Woods Road, Ithaca
Title/Speaker: “Deep divers and high fliers: the physiology of birds at the extreme,” Dr. Jessica Meir, comparative physiologist, University of British Columbia
Description: Birds are capable of extraordinary and diverse feats—from Emperor Penguins plunging to the depths of frigid Antarctic waters, to Bar-headed Geese flying high in the oxygen-thin air above the tallest mountains in the world.
