October 20 – Downtown Housing Forum

The results and full report of the Danter Company Housing Study for Downtown Ithaca will be presented on October 20^th at the TC3 Downtown Extension Center (6^th Floor M&T Bank Building). Participants will learn about current trends and market demand for housing in Ithaca. The Danter Company is a real estate research and consulting firm based out of Columbus, Ohio which conducts market feasibility studies for the real estate industry. The preliminary results indicate that the downtown market area has a vacancy rate of 0.5% and can support the development of 1,350 units over the next five years. The Downtown Ithaca Alliance 2020 Strategic Plan has called for 1,500 new units in the next ten years in addition to enhanced transit and an improved Commons.
