September 19 – Monday Night Seminar & Book Signing

Posted by  //  September 6, 2011  //  Calendar of Events, Workshops & Seminars

When: 7:30 PM

Where: Cornell Lab of Ornithology, 159 Sapsucker Woods Road, Ithaca

Speakers: Kim & Kenn Kaufman, Authors/Birders

Description: Lessons from the warbler capital: The phenomenal concentrations of warblers and otherspring migrants in the Magee Marsh region of northwestern Ohio have drawn increasing attention from birders in recent years. Working through the Black Swamp Bird Observatory, Kenn and Kimberly Kaufman are bringing together birders and the local communities in ways that build support for bird conservation. In this presentation, they’ll talk about the migration itself, efforts such as the Biggest Week In American Birding and the Black Swamp Birds & Business Alliance, and ideas that could be applied to support conservation efforts elsewhere.
