August 24 – Identifying Summer Diseases of Vegetables in Your Garden
Posted by Dustin Horton // August 9, 2011 // Calendar of Events
6:30-8:30 pm
Diseases affecting vegetables can be difficult to identify, especially for tomatoes, potatoes, and cucurbits, especially when nonbiotic issues like drought and nutritional deficiencies occur. Fresh samples or color images will lead into a discussion of detection and identification, with possible control measures addressed. Dr. Tom Zitter, plant pathologist at Cornell, will teach this class for the home gardener. Identifying Summer Diseases will take place Wed. Aug. 24, 6:30-8:30 pm at the Tompkins County Cornell Cooperative Extension Education Center, 615 Willow Avenue, Ithaca. Fee: $5; pre-registration requested. Please call 272-2292 for more information or registration.
