Posted by  //  August 7, 2011  //  News

Want to build up your resume, gain useful work experience and give back to your community at the same time? Well, here’s your chance. The South Central New York Region of the American Red Cross is offering a free training for anyone interested in becoming a Disaster Preparedness Presenter. With this training, you will gain the skills to educate people and businesses throughout the community on what they should do to be better prepared for disasters and emergencies.

The training session consists of an information session, the presenter’s training and a brief overview of Red Cross programs. Being a Disaster Preparedness Presenter is a volunteer position in the Red Cross and involves as much time as you want to give.

The training will take place on August 17 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Cortland Red Cross, 111 Port Watson St., Cortland, NY. Please register by August 15 by calling Jill Deskins at 565-2061 or emailing jdeskins@redcrosselmira.org
