Posted by  //  May 17, 2011  //  News

Please join us on Saturday, June 18 as the Southworth Library Association in Dryden, NY celebrates the completion of the almost 6000 square foot addition to the library, the Lincoln Center.  The dedication begins at 10 a.m. with a ceremonial Masonic cornerstone dedication and a special address by Mr. Michael Lane, member of the Southworth Library Board of Trustees and representative for the Town of Dryden. At 11:30 a.m. a bronze plaque of President Lincoln reading to his son Thad, as rendered by local sculptor Jacques Schickel of MaryHill Clayworks, will be unveiled.  Light refreshments will be served.  A Family Story Time event will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Mrs. Pamel, our Library Director, and special treats and refreshments will be available.

“We are very pleased to provide this truly beautiful new library space for our community”, says Pamel.

We will be closed from June 6 to June 17 to move items into place in our new space and will re-open for normal library hours on Monday, June 20.  Library patrons are reminded that they can use their Southworth Library Card at any of the other Tompkins County libraries that are part of the Fingerlakes library system.

Please join us for our celebration on Saturday, June 18!  The Southworth Library is on the corner of West Main and Library Streets in Dryden across from the Post Office.   For additional information, please contact Diane Pamel, Library Director, at 844-4782 or email southworth@twcny.rr.com.  You can also find us on the web at www.southworthlibrary.org.
