Volunteers Needed

The Area Agency on Aging and the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) are looking for volunteers to assist with the Bonesaver Exercise Program. Bonesaver is an hour-long gentle routine that provides strength training done slowly with hand and ankle weights.
Based on research done at Tufts University, weight-bearing exercises, along with good nutrition, can help to prevent osteoporosis. The Bonesaver Exercise Program will provide a weekly exercise routine, utilizing hand and ankle weights. Improved flexibility and balance can also be provided when participating weekly in this exercise program.
Bonesaver volunteer leaders are needed to become trained in the program exercises and will be asked to co-lead weekly classes at a designated site. RSVP will be providing training for any interested volunteers, and can answer any questions a person might have about the program. Please contact the RSVP office at 753-5057 or email rsvp@cortland-co.org for more information.
