Linani’s has moved to its new location at 11 North Main Street after several months in temporary quarters at the Center for the Arts facility.
As part of the move, owner Randy Lewis has changed the name of the business to “The Manor at Briggs Hall and Linani’s Catering Service.”
Randy Lewis took over Linani’s Cookie Factory in 1997 from the previous owner. Originally located at 6 N. Main St. where Heyer Physical Therapy is now located, Randy moved to 5 S. Main St, where Olde Homer House is now located. Upon expiration of the lease, Randy found temporary space at the Center for the Arts. He spent several months renovating the ground floor space in the former Briggs-Hall Funeral Home. The interior has been completely redone with code compliant drywall on the walls and ceilings, new crown moldings, new paint throughout, and new wiring. New handicapped accessible bathrooms were also added to comply with current building codes.
The Manor has four rooms available for catered events, either singly or in combination.
Unlike at the previous location on South Main Street, walk-in meals will not be available. However, Randy offers weekly community dinners that were popular in the past.
Under the new model, he will provide lunches or dinners for groups of four to eighty or more by reservation only. With four dining rooms of various sizes, you can have a business or family event for as few as four in one of the smaller rooms. All you need to do is call him two or three days in advance to be sure of availability.
Currently, the Cortland Rotary Breakfast Club meets at the Manor on Wednesday mornings at 7:00 a.m. Approximately 50-60 members are comfortably accommodated.
“Local residents have been very supportive and generous.” stated Randy. “Some have given me round oak tables, chairs, and various wall decorations themed for the dining rooms. I have several weddings booked for this year and am working with various tour groups to attract bus groups to stop for lunch or dinner”.
“With a large parking lot adjacent to the building, the site is a “natural” for bus groups planning to attend events at the Center for the Arts or Cortland Repertory Theater. Of course, an added benefit to other village businesses is the fact that the visitors may wish to walk around the village and view our beautiful buildings and patronize our other merchants,” according to Lewis.
