Running to Places Theatre Company presents its annual Spring Showcase at The Hangar Theatre in Ithaca, April 15-17. Back by popular demand, this high-energy variety show features forty-five R2P company members from across the county as they sing and dance to Broadway’s best. Musical numbers from Sweeney Todd, Thoroughly Modern Millie, 42nd Street, Gypsy, The Drowsy Chaperone, Dream Girls, Rent, Mamma Mia and many more, plus a few non-Broadway surprises, too. You never know what is in store at Spring Showcase, and with the added excitement of being at the Hangar Theatre, you won’t want to miss it! Perfect fun for the entire family, tickets are available at the door or on line at www.runningtoplaces.org.
Director Joey Steinhagen, Choreographer Todd Peterson, Music Director Richard Montgomery and Producer Gail Belokur are joined by Scenic and Lighting Designer Max Doolittle and Costume Designer Mary Young to support a stellar cast of young artists. Spring Showcase is sponsored by Ithaca Youth Bureau, Bel Canto Farm, and the Savage Club of Ithaca with additional season-long support from CSP Management, Cayuga Radio Group and Community Arts Partnership.
R2P connects middle and high school students from across the Tompkins County area, teaching important life skills and strengthening community while creating great theatre. Founded in 2007, they were recently named “Best Community Theatre Company of 2010” by the readers of the Ithaca Times.
