Cabin Fever Fiber Fest
Posted by Dustin Horton // February 2, 2013 // Local Business
The Harford Exchange Country Store/Cafe will be hosting their first ever Cabin Fever Fiber Fest! They will be filling the upstairs ballroom with local vendors. The building is a former country store and stage coach stop from the early 1800’s. The ballroom retains much of the original old world charm it once had and will make a unique setting for this fiber gathering! Many of the vendors tend their own fiber flock and will be bringing a full range of fiber from raw to beautiful yarns and everything in between. Some of the expected fibers are, Cotswold, Wensleydale, Alpaca, Navaho Churro, Finn, Romney, Icelandic, Shetland, Border Leichester, and so on. These creative artisans will also have such things as knitted items, hand spun yarns, hand woven scarves, rug hooking demos, spinning, knitting, needle felting, wet felted garments, wool for hooking, handcrafted jewelry, soap, pottery, etc. There will also be door prizes! When you first walk in you will see the old store as a bakery/cafe. A place where you help yourself to coffee and get your cream out of the old fridge! The offerings for the day will include home baked goods from cookies to breads all baked on premise by the owners Deb and Omar. There will also be homemade soup and bread available for lunch. Please mark your calendar for a fiber filled day in the country. Saturday, February 16th from 10am to 4pm. Located at 380 Route 38 in Harford NY 13784. Just 6 miles south of Dryden, NY.
