Region Wide Red Cross Memory Project Begins
In the coming months, the Red Cross of South Central New York will be collecting Red Cross stories throughout the region as part of the Story Board Red Cross Memory Project. The goal of the project is to preserve individual Red Cross memories that might otherwise be lost. Each and every story received will be recorded in the American National Red Cross archives, and some stories may be published.
Many people have at least one Red Cross experience they can share and no story is insignificant. Perhaps you have a vintage story about being actively involved with the Red Cross during WWII. Have you donated blood? Or have you taken Red Cross training classes or been the recipient of Red Cross aid after a disaster? Tell your story in 25 words or 2500 words – the Red Cross wants to hear it all.
To write or for help in telling your story, go to www.1redcross.org and click on the Story Board article. There are prompts to help you in writing down your special Red Cross story. If you don’t have access to a computer, call Annie Yager at 785-7207 x328 for more information.
About the American Red Cross
Your American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies nearly half of the nation’s blood; teaches lifesaving skills; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a charitable organization — not a government agency — and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission.
