Carol Hill’s Photography & Poems is a newly opened on-location and in studio photography studio that is offering a wide range of custom photo session that range from traditional family formals to wedding and tasteful boudoir photography sessions. In addition to providing a wide range of custom photography sessions the studio doubles as a showroom and art gallery (The Cat’s Den) featuring up and coming local artists of all types. Carol Hill was born and raised in Cortland NY and has lived within the Central New York area her entire life. Carol is a a nurse by trade but has always enjoyed photography and creative writing. Carol’s artistic focus in photography has been in creating captivating pictures of natural landscapes, unusual structures that are considered to be non-conventional figures as well as journalistic style human photography. Carol most enjoys photographing people, their lives and the human form in motion and in its constant state of “being”.
Carol’s overall philosophy about her art; “I am no more unique, nor an expert in my art as anyone else. Some folks before me have become famous in mainstream society because they have asked for it and have received it. What I do, I do because it is healing and it is my passion! And mostly it grounds the woman I am. I will never truly be an “expert” so to speak, as I will always seek and find new ways to express myself within my art”.
Carol Hill’s Photography & Poems is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings 4:00pm-9:00pm for sessions by appointment and every other Saturday and Sunday 9-4pm appointment or walk-ins welcome. It is advisable to call ahead as many sessions are on-location and the gallery may be closed.
