American Red Cross emergency volunteers were on the scene at a fire on Pasadena Avenue in the Village of Groton today.
The fire completely destroyed the single-family home. The residents, two adults and two children, ages 14 and 11, were not home at the time the fire broke out.
The family is being helped by the Red Cross and given financial aid to purchase food and replacement clothing. They will be staying with relatives nearby.
As part of its humanitarian mission, the Red Cross will continue to monitor the needs of the family and additional services may be provided in the future.
