Groton Public Library Awarded Grant

The Groton Public Library was recently awarded a $1,000 grant from “The Friends of the Tompkins County Public Library” for the purchase of Easy Readers for our Children’s collection.
Easy Readers are the hard covered books with bright eye catching illustrations and topics that pique the interest of our youngest, just learning to read patrons. These books are crucial to sowing the seeds for a lifelong love of reading – they are the bridge between picture books and juvenile books. These are the first books children learn to read on their own.
The Groton Public Library is grateful for the Friends of the Library generous support of our local libraries through these grants.
