Our 42nd Year Is Quickly Becoming One of Our Best

This year 2024, started on time the first week of May, but quickly fell behind with all the rain on Saturdays this spring. As of this writing we’ve only had 4 Races, and already 18 of our 21 driver’s have won a race this year.  Our club has always been about keeping it affordable for parents. You may wonder how we do that?  

1. You don’t have to buy a Microd to race with us! Finger Lakes Microd Club has Microds you can rent for the season, this prevents parents from having to shell out money to buy a Microd, Motor, and a trailer or some other way of getting to the track. The cost of doing this is very affordable, exactly $545.00 for the entire summer. (The season lasts from May to September)
2. Another Plus is parents don’t have to have a great working knowledge of mechanics in order to compete. (older members share knowledge & expertise with new members)
3. With the club owning the motors, it prevents people taking them home and tinkering with them between races. Drivers draw chips each week to see which motors they will get.
4. All cars must weigh-up to the heaviest car – driver combination in their class.

These last two principles are designed to keep the playing field as level as possible and allow drivers to concentrate on developing their confidence & driving skills. The Club is really about parents spending time with their children, (in a beautiful place) improving their driving skills, Sportsmanship, and Helping others. There is a learning curve for the parents as well, putting the motor on, lining up the chain & more. We would like everyone to know we welcome & encourage Any and all Special Needs Children to come and Race with Us! We have worked with Kids with Hearing Impairment, Asma, ADHD, Autism, Spina Bifida, Paralysis, Mentally Challenged, Rasmussen’s Encephalitis, & Bi Polar Disorder. Please Give us a chance to help!

Location & Contact Information: Our Track is located just off the corners of Rts. of 38 & 34B, (at: 1437 Peruville Rd. Freeville NY) and is the sport of Microding’s Premiere Facility. On our club’s Web Site: www.littlewheels.org. There are some videos of past races, along with directions to the track. Racing is for both Boys & Girls ages 5-17. There is no charge to come and watch.
