2021 Cortland County Dairy Parade
Posted by Dustin Horton // May 19, 2021 // Festivals, News
We are more than excited to announce that we have worked with the City of Cortland and have been given permission to host the Dairy Parade this year! The parade will be held TUESDAY, JUNE 1st AT 6:30 P.M.
All aspects of this parade are going to look different from past years. For this year only, our parade participants will park their floats on S. Main St. from the corners of Port Watson/Tompkins and Main St., down to the end of South Main near Valley View Dr. The floats will be lined up on both sides of S. Main St. Vehicles/attendees will drive down the street to see your floats. A reversed parade!
June is Dairy Month, therefore ALL FLOATS PROMOTE MILK OR OTHER ASPECTS OF THE DAIRY INDUSTRY in their entries. Past parades have shown that a little time spent in planning imaginative displays adds so much in the parade. All participants will be stationary and on a float of some sort. We know that in past years we’ve had groups walk the parade route, but that is not an option this year. Due to spacing this year and this temporary format, we will only be able to allow one vehicle/float per organization or business. Livestock will only be allowed on floats.
